SCHOOL BUS DRIVER TRAINER -------------------------

  • Trains individuals on Pre-trip Inspections.
  • Trains individuals on driving skills.
  • Trains individuals on driving hazards.
  • Conducts classroom training on a daily basis.
  • Conducts recertification classes for licensed personnel.
  • Conducts reflex procedures for licensed personnel.
  • Coordinates training efforts with CDL Clerk.
  • Assists supervisory personnel in completing assigned tasks.
  • Keeps assigned workspace neat and clean.
  • Cares and accounts for all literature being used.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS ---------------

Must be a high school graduate from a regionally accredited school or have GED equivalent. Must be able to read and understand all written materials. Must be able to complete all paperwork pertaining to job. Must be able and willing to train assigned personnel according to state and federal guidelines pertaining to School Buses. Must be knowledgeable on all aspects of School Buses. Must possess an Alabama Commercial Drivers License with a passenger endorsement accompanied by an Alabama School Bus Drivers Certificate. Must be willing and able to perform any and all duties assigned while on duty. Will be expected to achieve and maintain the highest standard instruction.

Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo or have undergone an ABIFBI criminal history background check fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.
