Responsibilities:
Safely transport students to and from school along assigned routes in a timely manner
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure bus safety and compliance
Maintain order and a safe environment on the bus for all passengers
Follow all traffic laws, school district policies, and state transportation regulations
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, school staff, and parents as needed
Complete accurate daily logs, incident reports, and route documentation
Assist students with special needs or disabilities in boarding and exiting the vehicle when required
Requirements:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
Clean driving record with no major traffic violations
Must pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination
Prior school bus or commercial driving experience preferred
Strong knowledge of Chicago-area roads and traffic patterns
Excellent punctuality, reliability, and time management skills
Patient, calm demeanor with the ability to manage student behavior professionally
