School counselors design and deliver school counseling programs that improve student outcomes. They lead, advocate and collaborate to promote equity and access for all students by connecting their school counseling program to the school's academic mission and school improvement plan. They uphold the ethical and professional standards of ASCA and promote the development of the school counseling program based on the following areas of the ASCA National Model: define, deliver, manage and assess.

School Counselor Overview:

  • Follows the Core Values of the Green Bay Area Public School District as driver of our words and actions.
  • Promotes efforts on diversity, establishes best practices and utilizes skills to remove barriers for students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Design, implement, and assess a developmental appropriate, comprehensive, data driven, school counseling program using the academic, college/career, and or social/emotional domains.

  • District wide Programming and Activities
  • Individual Student Academic and Career Planning
  • Responsive Services
  • Work within the MTMDSS Framework (Multi Tiered/Multi Domain System of Support) to provide a continuum of core activities, instruction, and interventions to meet all students needs.
  • Support Referrals of students and families for assistance to community agencies and service providers.
  • Be a core member of the school''s integrated pupil services team.
  • Partner with students, teachers, administrators, families, and community organizations, to design and deliver a comprehensive, coordinated and customized system of student support.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications Required:

Education: Master''s degree

License: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction School Counselor certification
