    Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) School Counselor Under the direction of the Executive Director of Specialized Programs or designee, the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) School Counselor provides districtwide academic, social-emotional, behavioral, attendance, transition, and family support to students participating in before-school, after-school, summer, and intersession programs. This is a mobile, districtwide position serving approximately 14 elementary schools and 4 middle schools, with potential future support for high schools. The counselor works collaboratively with school-day counseling and administrative teams while maintaining a dedicated focus on student needs during expanded learning hours. Key Responsibilities Direct Student Support: Provide short-term individual and group counseling, student check-ins, crisis response (within the scope of the position), and transition support. Intervention & Resources: Deliver targeted attendance and engagement interventions, and refer students and families to school and community resources. Family & Staff Collaboration: Provide family consultation, staff consultation, and professional learning opportunities. Program Development: Assist expanded learning personnel in creating inclusive, student-centered environments that foster belonging, positive behavior, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and resilience. Work Location & Schedule Assignment: Mobile, districtwide assignment with a visible presence required at assigned program sites. Hours & Flexibility: Requires a flexible schedule to accommodate before-school, after-school, summer, intersession, and occasional evening responsibilities. Note on Operating Hours: General program operating hours across the district run from 6:30 AM - 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM - 6:35 PM on school days.
