The Opportunity School Counselor (26-27SY)
Competencies and Qualifications Lighthouse Community Charter School is looking for a Counselor who is relentlessly committed to ensuring that traditionally underserved students achieve our mission of completing college and securing the career of choice. Lighthouse staff believe that this important mission is not only attainable; it is essential to transforming our Oakland community. The Counselor will be an integral part of an RTI Team which ensures all students receive necessary academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports to thrive in alignment with the Lighthouse Mission, Theory of Change, Graduate Profile, and Instructional Stances.
Roles and Responsibilities Counseling Expertise. Provide counseling, case management, and consultation services for a caseload of students, dependent on need and determined in conjunction with the Clinical Intervention Team. This may include:
Team Collaboration. Work collaboratively and effectively as a member of the RTI Team and instructional staff, including but not limited to:
Professionalism. Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
This role includes responsibilities that support students in three primary ways: 1.) Individual student support, including crisis response 2.) Group counseling and support 3.) Staff support, including coaching and leadership in the COST process.

Time Commitment This position is 1.0 FTE (full-time exempt) and follows a 12-month (233 day) work year with significant student-free days for professional learning and collaboration with colleagues and interaction with families. Includes approximately 5 weeks of paid holidays/breaks during the school year in addition to accruing 10 days of PTO during the year for use during the summer. All 12-month staff will report on July 27, 2026.
Common Building Hours: All teachers are expected to maintain common building hours for their school site. These may be subject to change for the 2026-27SY:
SUPERVISION This position reports to the Director of Student Services & Special Education.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE Range: $80K-105K/Year. Commensurate with experience.
