QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: Working as a team with school, parents, and the community to provide a complete, developmental counseling program focusing on academic, career, and personal/social development; coordinating and managing special programs and projects focused on college and career opportunities; developing plans and/or providing information regarding students' goals; ensuring completion of students' applications within a designated time frame; and creating an atmosphere to meet student needs through prevention, identification, and intervention.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and kneel on hard surfaces and is occasionally required to walk or stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee frequently will reach above the head and forward. The employee frequently uses hand strength to grasp equipment or students. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds such as students or students in wheelchairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception, and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in hot temperatures and extreme temperatures below ten degrees and occasionally will walk on slippery/uneven surfaces. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with the public and others. The employee has direct responsibility for the safety and well-being of others. The employee is often exposed to fumes and airborne particles and frequently must work in outside weather. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud to the point where you have to raise your voice to be heard.
