Requirements:

New Jersey Certified School Counselor must demonstrate the following:

• Knowledge, skills and a background in school counseling.
• Experience with the postsecondary planning process, including the college application process.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the online program, Naviance.
• Prior knowledge of PowerSchool a plus.
• Ability to effectively articulate and advocate for children's needs with teachers, administration, and parents.
• Superior communication skills.
• Awareness of the New Jersey Learning Standards and state assessment protocol.
