School Counselor

The School District of Amery is now hiring a School Counselor to work with students in grades 4K-2 at Lien Elementary School. DPI licensure as a school counselor is required for this position.

School Counselor expectations:

• Assist students with academic, emotional, social or behavioral development

• Promote achievement, attendance, social/emotional/behavior skills, and school safety

• Use school data to guide student programming

• Address policies and practices that implement PBIS, TSS, and restorative practices within the building

• Support academic, career, and/or personal/social development

• Consult with parents/guardians, teachers, support staff, administration and any local agencies which might be of assistance to the students

• Provide parents/guardians with accurate, comprehensive and relevant information in an objective and caring manner

• Work with staff to guide and understand the needs of all students, their development and the impact on learning, which may include staff development

• Assist and guide students in understanding the school environment and their expectations

• Facilitate and utilize conflict resolution skills and restorative practices

• Analyze, develop, implement, and track student intervention plans (academic & behavior)

• Organize and analyze EduClimber behavioral data for implementation of PBIS

• Collaborate with the student success team

• Providing support to students during times of dysregulation and advocate for student's needs and programing

• Provide whole group, small group, or individual counseling services to students, teach classroom lessons, and collaborate with building staff to meet the needs of all students

The School District of Amery is a public PK-12 district of approximately 1,200 students in four buildings on one campus. Amery is one of the highest achieving districts in western Wisconsin.
