School Counselor

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Exempt Position; 10 months; Full Time

SALARY: Salary placement will be determined by the NC Salary Schedule based on license and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: NC School Counselor License Required

DUTIES: Responsible for instructional program as outlined in the NC Common Core/Essential Standards; guide individuals and groups of students through the development of educational plans; provide goal-oriented counseling sessions in response to identified needs such as academics, attendance, diversity, mental health, behavior management, crisis intervention, homelessness, child abuse, and neglect, peer or family issues, or other relevant topics; participate in the student intervention team process; assist students and family in gaining access to community resources and scholarship opportunities; adhere to ethical, professional, and legal standards; meet with maintain confidentiality of student records and information; other duties assigned by superintendent or principal.
