The Wake County Public Health School Health Program provides School Health Services for Wake County Public Schools. Each school nurses serves 2 schools which may be any combination of preschool, elementary, middle, and/or high schools. Nurses spend 2 days a week at one school and 3 days a week at the other school. School nurses work 8-hour days Monday through Friday and must be present in assigned schools during regular school hours.
This school nurse position is a 10-month position. This nurse will work from August 16 through June 15 of each year and will have June 16 through August 15 off. This position is considered part-time (0.833 FTE) although this nurse will work 8 hour days and 40 hour weeks between August 16 and June 15. This school nurse will serve 2 elementary schools in the North Raleigh area; Barton Pond ES and Sycamore Creek ES.
