Primary Purpose:
Under general supervision, provide protection forstudents, personnel, visitors, and property. Responsible for assisting school administration and staff in providing a safe and secure environment through proactive safety and security prevention, immediate response to any disruption or criminal activity, and instilling respect and understanding of the law in students through education and example.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
High School Diploma/GED
Satisfactory outcome of background review, drug test, and physical/psychological screening
Valid License to Carry (LTC) or the ability to obtain
Five years of experience in a law enforcement role, preferred Preferred
Training/Certification:
Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) or other Active Shooter training
Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE)
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Stop the Bleed
Texas Peace Officer License issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) or ability to obtain

Ability to successfully complete the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement 80-hour School Marshall training.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Security Enforcement and Safety
Potential to carry weapon under the provisions as outlined in the Texas Education Code 37.081 and Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
Maintain a visible security presence on campuses before school hours, throughout the day, and after school hours.
Patrol district campuses and facilities; walking or driving to detect/prevent any threat of serious bodily injury or death.
Respond to calls concerning safety issues.
Assist in the review and development of campus and district safety plans.
Report and provide documentation of any noted safety concerns to district/campus administration and supervisor.
Notify School Resource Officers (SRO), police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate or prompt attention in line with district practices, policies, and plans.
Prepare incident reports and ensure thoroughness of the information contained within.
Coordinate with district administration and supervisor to schedule continuous security coverage daily and obtain additional security for special events or activities.
Demonstrate integrity, high expectations, commitment, respect, dedication to teamwork, and passion for a studentcentered environment and serve as an appropriate, positive role model for students.
Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others while conducting district business, demonstrating teamwork in daily activities.
Complete and keep current all required licenses and/or training as required by the district.
Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws, and regulations.
Adhere to the district's safety policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business; specific confidentiality requirements apply to positions and roles related to district security and safety.
Perform the essential function of interacting with students and district employees in the specific work site assigned (office, classroom, etc.).
Meet attendance standards and comply with notification of absence procedures.
Perform special duty assignments, protective details, and all other duties as assigned.
Administration
Compile and maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and required documents including incident and activity reports.
Assist in the maintenance and repair of district safety equipment.
