Description
Mary of Nazareth School in Darnestown Maryland is hiring a long term substitute School Nurse.
This role will report to the Principal and the rate of pay is $175 per day.

The School Nurse will provide health services to students while they are at school by treating students and staff who have medical needs (including injuries, acute and chronic illnesses) during the school day and throughout the year.
Responsibilities include:
Providing basic healthcare for students
Dispense medication as prescribed
Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities.
Maintain student health records (including vaccination records) in accordance with the Health Department and the Catholic Schools Office.
Educate students on healthy habits such as proper nutrition and hygiene.
Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings.
Distribute health information to the school community as needed.
Maintain confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
Identify health-related barriers to learning.
Contact Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in collaboration with site administration, when necessary, to respond to medical emergencies.
Obtain and organize needed medical and administrative supplies necessary to provide health services.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Experience as a registered nurse, licensed in the state of Maryland
Experience working with a diverse age group.
Knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices as applied to children and youth.
Ability to provide effective nursing and related health services for students.
Maintain competencies and clinical nursing skills.
Ability to multi-task
Knowledge of CPR, first aid and AED
Calm and collected during an emergency.
Able to lift and support students who need to be moved
Able to carry emergency supplies to school property locations.
Must affirm and support the Catholic Church in the performance of their duties.
