School Nurse Substitute

Job Summary: Under the supervision or direction of the District Nursing Supervisor, the School Nurse supports student success by providing health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all children within the school setting. The school nurse address physical, mental, emotional and social health needs of students and supports their achievement in the learning process. This position not only provides for the safety and care of the students and stuff but also addresses the need for integrating health solutions into the educational setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BSN, current unrestricted (RN) license to practice nursing in Massachusetts
• 2 years pediatric, community or school nursing experience
• CPR/AED/First Aid certified
• Knowledge of pediatric developmental stages
• Current authorization to work int eh United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
• DESE school nurse certification preferred
• Bilingual/Multilingual preferred but not mandatory
