Position Title:

School Nutrition Assistant - Part Time

Location:

To be determined

Salary:

$15.00 hr

Term:

10 Month ~5 hours daily (Monday-Friday)

Job Summary:

Work performed includes but is not limited to breakfast preparation, serving meals, and serving as a meal service cashier.

Individuals are also responsible for monitoring and maintaining kitchen and cafeteria areas for the purpose of ensuring a safe and sanitary working environment.

Individuals will also be responsible for performing other duties as requested.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED preferred

Food service experience preferred

Essential Duties:

Coordinating skills to gather items as directed by recipe

Record keeping skills to maintain records of items, quantity used, and amount of food

Cooking skills to provide nutritious and appealing lunch for students and staff

Organizing skills to maintain accurate class rosters in the computer

Analytical skills to alter recipes for larger quantity cooking

Communication skills to communicate effectively with students and staff

Manual skills for cleaning and food preparation

Mechanical skills to operate kitchen equipment and utensils

Planning skills to determine supplies needed and plan food parparation for the next day and future menus;advise manager as to how much food will be needed

Common arithmetical functions for measuring ingredients and conversions of recipes; making change and balancing when operatin cash register
