Job Description:
Prepare and serve the appropriate quantities of food to meet menu requirements. Maintains high standards in food production, sanitation, and safety practices. The food service employee is responsible for the efficient operation of his/her assigned area. The food service employee must uphold the policies and standards of the School Nutrition Department.
Hours Per Day: 6.5
Salary Range: Salary commensurate with related experience

Qualifications
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Texas Food Handler's Certificate required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work tactfully and pleasantly with people
Ability to read, write and understand verbal and written instructions
Demonstrate professional appearance and cleanliness in work habits
Ability to coordinate and produce work in allotted time
Ability to handle money efficiently and perform basic mathematical calculations
Positive attitude toward work and other school personnel
Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in cold or below zero environment for short periods of time
Must be able to work in a hot and humid environment
Experience:
3 months of institutional or retail food service preparation preferred

Moderate to heavy exposure to hot and cold temperatures, steam and wet floors and cleaning chemicals.
