Job Description
Description:

Tired of agency life, rotating schools, no holiday pay, and a recruiter who only calls when they need something? Lead at a practice that invests in you. We are hiring school-based OTRs to lead our school teams for the upcoming school year.

Whole Child Therapy is a pediatric OT and speech practice founded and led by occupational therapists, not a staffing agency. We are hiring school-based OTR-COTA teams for our school partner in the Inland Empire area. Each registered OT leads and supervises a certified OT assistant, and together they serve students at assigned schools. Apply as an individual and we will match you, or apply together as an existing OTR-COTA pair.

Why you will love working here

  • Real stability: a consistent caseload shared with a COTA, caseload number capped by the school district
  • Pay that grows with you: $52 to $57/hour to start depending on experience, with built-in annual step increases the longer you stay.
  • Supervisory premium: lead and supervise a COTA partner and earn a premium on top of your base; effective pay can reach about $60/hour.
  • Bonuses: a $1,500 year-end completion bonus and a $1,000 attendance bonus.
  • Time off that is actually paid: 10 PTO days, 6 paid holidays, and 5 paid sick days.
  • Benefits: employer-share paid medical, dental, and vision, plus a 401k with year-end profit sharing.
  • We grow you: $300/year paid CEUs, a $200/year supplies allowance, and structured mentorship.
  • No non-compete. Your career stays yours.

Your total compensation at a glance

  • Base pay: $52 to $57/hour depending on experience, with annual step increases.
  • Supervisory premium: an added share of your COTA's billings for leading the team, bringing cash pay up to about $60/hour.
  • Bonuses: $2,500/year ($1,500 year-end completion plus $1,000 attendance).
  • Employer-paid benefits worth about $5,300/year: employer-share paid medical, dental, and vision; $300 CEUs; $200 supplies.
  • Total compensation value: roughly $60 to $63/hour, about $98,000 to $106,000/year once benefits and bonuses are counted.
What you will do
  • Evaluate and treat pediatric students under our school-based contract across sensory, motor, etc.
  • Lead and clinically supervise a COTA partner who provides services under your license.
  • Write IEP-aligned goals, conduct assessments, and collaborate with families and the school team.
  • Document in a timely manner, with protected plan time built into your schedule.
Requirements:

  • Current California OT license (or license-eligible) and NBCOT certification.
  • Pediatric or school-based experience preferred; strong new graduates with a mentorship mindset are welcome.
  • Comfort supervising a COTA, or genuine interest in growing into that role.
  • Reliable, collaborative, and family-centered.
