The faculty of Science and Mathematics (PSM) in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) on the Polytechnic Campus at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications to establish a pool for science Faculty Associates for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate(s) will teach undergraduate courses in biology, chemistry, physics, pre-veterinary science, pre-dental science or related disciplines; prepare class materials; evaluate student work; and hold office hours to assist students. Science Faculty Associates may also be responsible for teaching or oversight of lab and recitation sections. Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.
The School of Applied Sciences and Arts (SASA) delivers science and liberal arts courses to students from all majors at the Polytechnic and Downtown campuses. Over 170 faculty serve over 4,400 majors in career-focused applied-learning programs, ranging from undergraduate applied biology majors in pre-vet, pre-dental, and horticulture programs to majors in interdisciplinary studies, the history of science, technology, and innovation, and STS (science, technology, and society). Our students also pursue graduate work in Applied Biology, Liberal Studies, Narrative Studies, and Integrative Social Sciences. SASA is the proud home of one of the nation's first degrees in Military and Veterans Studies, and we are committed to the robust support of veteran and military-affiliated students through our Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement (OVMAE).
