    Description

    Position Summary

    Walsh University is seeking qualified candidates to teach history, HIST 103 and HIST 104, courses in the School of Arts, Sciences and Education at Walsh University beginning Fall 2027. Candidate will teach courses as assigned per program requirements. Candidates may teach 2-3 classes per semester.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • On-campus teaching required (no online teaching)
    • Teaching courses assigned per program requirements
    • Working with ECN/Cav Class (Fall of 2026) (our online class portal)

    Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    Must demonstrate an understanding the Walsh University Statement of Faith and a commitment to support the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University in accordance with Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the Catholic intellectual tradition and possess the following:

    Education: Master's Degree required in area of concentration, history or related discipline, per program requirements.

    Work Experience: Demonstration of teaching experience preferred.

    Skills and abilities:

    • Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.

    • Regular demands of in-person teaching interacting with students, moving around room.
    • Read, understand, and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with students/co-workers/others, giving and receiving instructions, using phones
    • Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel in a professional and effective manner
