Required Degree:
A terminal degree in advertising/communications or a related field is strongly preferred. However, given the nature of this professional faculty position, candidates with an under-graduate and/or graduate degree in advertising/communications and a minimum of 8-10 years substantial professional experience may be considered.
Experience:
Candidates should have experience working as a copywriter, art director, or content creator in a creative department of an ad agency or in-house creative department. The ideal candidate will also have experience as a creative director leading other creative teams and providing direction and feedback.
Duties/Expectations:
Teaching 8 to 9 classes per academic year (fall, winter, spring/summer) in the creative advertising sequence and potentially core courses within the School of Communications. This individual will also assist the AdLab Faculty Director and AdLab manager to mentor client projects, student portfolios, and other student-centered initiatives. The successful candidate will also contribute to creative advertising sequence vision and planning, curriculum development, etc., assist with sequence efforts to coordinate with industry associations, agency recruiting, and client relationships, and fulfill school, college, and university assignments.
