The School of Community Resources and Development SCRD in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University ASU invites applications for Faculty Associate and Academic Associate positions for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Faculty Associates and Academic Associates are part-time appointments who are hired on one-semester renewable contracts to teach one or two courses not to exceed 0.40 FTE per semester either in person or online.

Faculty Associate and Academic Associate positions are fixed-term appointments that are not eligible for benefits sabbaticals or tenure. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Official transcripts are required prior to employment. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates and Academic Associates may not hold multiple non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.

For this position we seek a pool of qualified people who are available to teach in-person courses on ASUs Downtown Phoenix or Tempe campus or online.

The School of Community Resources and Development is one of the four schools in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions. Watts College has a student body of over 6747 undergraduate and graduate students.

Courses are delivered through in-person online and hybrid platforms and have been taught multiple times with a well-defined syllabus outlining purpose content readings and assignments.

Essential Functions

  • Teach courses as assigned.
  • Deliver engaging in-person andor online lectures discussions and content.
  • Contribute to the creation of assignments and exams.
  • Evaluate and grade student work according to rubrics.
  • Manage Canvas learning management platform and hold office hours to assist students.

Applicants should be comfortable with technology enjoy the idea of educating students in a higher education environment and bring demonstrated evidence of a strong appetite and success for teaching leading learning.
