The Buseck Center for Meteorite Studies (BCMS) in the School of Earth and Space Exploration (SESE) at Arizona State University invites applications for a Research Professor position. Rank will be commensurate with experience and credentials. This is a non-tenure track benefits-eligible position subject to annual renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the unit. Anticipated start date is May 18, 2026, but a later start date is negotiable.
The position of Research Professor in the Buseck Center for Meteorite Studies is a key appointment in support of essential functions in the Center. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the BCMS Director in supporting the mission of the Center and involves such functions as:
An additional core responsibility is the development of an independent research program that supports the BCMS mission of creating and sharing new knowledge in the field of meteoritics and allied sciences.
Please Note: It is expected that 25% of the successful candidates salary will come from extramural sources secured by the successful candidate.
