Faculty Associate positions are one-semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based on qualifications and assigned teaching load.

Essential Functions of the Position:

• Teach upper and/or lower-division courses to undergraduate students, and possibly graduate students, in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats.
• Prepare syllabus, lectures and class materials, exams, and grade assignments and exams.
• Maintain regular availability to students, including office hours as appropriate to course modality.
• Monitor student success and regularly respond to student academic issues.
• Clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
• Work with multiple course/teaching assistants in large classes.
