Primary Purpose:

Provide psychological services for the district, including psychological evaluation and report writing, behavior management and counseling. Assess the psychological and psychoeducational needs of learners referred to special education. Consult with parents, educators and administrators and provide training as requested.

Education/Certification:

- Master's degree in psychology, education or related field from an accredited college or university

- Valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology (LSSP)

- Select and administer formal and informal psychological/behavioral evaluations to determine learner eligibility for special education services according to federal and state regulations

- Assist in compilation of formal and informal data, including classroom observations and personal interviews

- Compile data necessary to complete a Functional Behavioral Assessment and develop a Behavior Intervention Plan

- Write psychological evaluation reports consistent with criteria established by state and federal law.

- Participate in the Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist with interpretation of evaluation data, appropriate placement and behavioral interventions and development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for learners according to district procedures

- Provide professional learning to assist school personnel in understanding how to identify and teach compensation skills for specific areas of concern
