Duties
- Holds a master's degree in psychology.
- Hold a Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Support Personnel Endorsement in School Psychology(requires one-year internship).
- Must be familiar with the use of computers, including but not limited to electronic mail, the Internet, word processing, and electronic spreadsheets (Google Drive).
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective, professional, and collaborative working relationships with students, parents/guardians, administrators, faculty, and support staff. Ability to communicate clearly, tactfully, and respectfully-both orally and in writing-with diverse stakeholders. Exhibits sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion in interactions, fostering a positive and supportive educational environment.
- Ability to guard, maintain, and preserve confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to work with students, teachers, education support personnel, building administrators, and the public.
- Ability to enforce school regulations and policies professionally.
Qualifications
- Provides individualized child study in the areas of intellectual ability, educational achievement, and social/emotional adjustment.
- Provides recommendations to school personnel for education remediation, special class eligibility determination, and behavioral intervention.
- The school psychologist shall assist students directly toward adjustment to school.
- Conducts individual, group, or facilitative therapy for students whose diagnosed problem would benefit from behavior modification.
- Participates in case conferences when referred students are involved, or as requested.
- Participates in RTI and other district-wide interventions.
- Attends multi-disciplinary staff conferences.
- Provides follow-up of student progress and home/school adjustment.
- Provides consultation services to parents, teachers, school personnel, and community agencies.
- Participates in in-service training for staff members.
- Supervises the training of school psychologist interns in the school district.
- Keeps informed of new developments in the field.
- The school psychologist will participate with the administrative team regarding general Principal, Department Head, and district meetings.
- Performs all duties necessary to the position and such other duties as may be fixed by the Director.
Salary/Benefits
$53,132 - $89,357 per year(Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule, 7.5 Hours/day)
