Reports to: Principal and Executive Director of Special Services
Starting Date: July 20, 2026

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid South Carolina Department of Education certification as a School Psychologist Level II or III
  • Completion of at least 60 graduate credit hours, including a year‑long supervised internship

Position Summary
The School Psychologist supports student learning and well‑being by providing consultation, psychoeducational assessment, data‑driven recommendations, and collaborative problem‑solving with educators and families. This role plays a key part in multidisciplinary teams, special education eligibility processes, behavioral planning, and district‑wide initiatives that promote academic and social‑emotional success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and families through observations, record reviews, conferences, and student interviews
  • Participate in school‑based and district‑level problem‑solving and student assistance teams
  • Serve as a resource to staff by sharing current research, best practices, and professional expertise
  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations in alignment with state and federal guidelines
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessments and other diagnostic tools
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely psychological reports
  • Review transfer records and support schools in making interim placements for students with disabilities
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary team meetings and eligibility conferences
  • Provide program recommendations for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Conduct on‑site visits to out‑of‑district placements to support program planning and student needs
  • Recommend evidence‑based academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional interventions
  • Assist in developing individualized behavior intervention plans
  • Conduct home or on‑site visits for students referred for specialized evaluations (e.g., preschool, autism)
  • Provide in‑service training for school personnel on referral procedures, interventions, and best practices
