Job Overview – School Psychologist
Compensation: $75,000/year
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a School Psychologist in Bronx, NY for our client, supporting psychological assessments, behavioral health services, social-emotional development, and educational programming within a school-based setting. This role will collaborate with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success, behavioral growth, and academic achievement. The ideal candidate will bring strong assessment and counseling skills, school-based or pediatric experience, and a collaborative approach to supporting diverse student populations.

Responsibilities as the School Psychologist:
  • Psychological Assessments: Conduct evaluations, screenings, and re-evaluations to assess cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs.
  • Therapeutic Services: Provide individual and group counseling services to support students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Behavioral Interventions: Develop and implement behavior support plans, classroom strategies, and crisis intervention techniques to promote student success.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Consult with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families regarding behavioral, emotional, and developmental concerns.
  • IEP & Educational Support: Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, provide recommendations, and contribute to educational planning and goal development.
  • Documentation & Advocacy: Maintain clinical documentation, prepare psychological reports, and advocate for student needs throughout the educational process.

Qualifications for the School Psychologist:
  • Education: Master’s degree in School Psychology, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Licensure: Active New York State Psychology License and New York State School Psychologist Certification are required.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience working within school-based, pediatric, behavioral health, or related educational settings is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of child development, behavioral interventions, psychological assessment practices, and special education services is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with psychological assessment tools, clinical documentation systems, Microsoft Office applications, and educational record management platforms is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, relationship-building, crisis intervention, problem-solving, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are required.
