QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Wyoming State Certification as a School Psychologist

TERMS OS EMPLOYMENT:

The School Psychologist shall, under normal circumstances, be employed by the Board no later than April 15. Contract terms shall be as per adopted salary schedule and adopted benefit package.

REPORTS??? TO: School Principals, Director of Special Education

JOB GOAL: Assist students, teachers, and parents in promoting mental and social wellness in the educational experience. This could include individual and/or group counseling with students. Administer and interpret evaluations in the areas of; academic achievement, intellectual, behavioral, social, adaptive and functional behaviors to determine need for specialized instruction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

  • Conduct psychological assessments with referred students for the purpose of offering recommendations to the school multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Conduct individual or group therapy for students who need the related services according to their Individual Education Program.
  • Serve as a resource and consultant to student centered teams. Recommend instructional, behavioral, and management programs to facilitate individual student learning.
  • Encourages parental involvement in student's education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary assessment team meetings to develop and evaluate Individual Educational plans.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

Perform such other appropriate duties as may be assigned by the principal and/or special education director.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Requires driving skills and the ability to drive at night
  • Requires prolonged sitting or standing
  • Requires some overnight travel
  • Work in standard office and school building environments

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of certified personnel, and will be done by Special Education Director with input from school principals.
