This tenure-track position includes case management responsibilities, cognitive evaluations, counseling services, consultation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success.The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of special education regulations, assessment practices, counseling techniques, and data-driven decision making while maintaining positive relationships with students, families, and staff.Primary ResponsibilitiesChild Study Team ResponsibilitiesParticipate as an active member of the Child Study Team in the evaluation, identification, classification, and educational planning process for students with disabilities.Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations in accordance with NJ special education regulations and timelines.Administer, score, analyze, and interpret cognitive, educational, behavioral, adaptive, and social-emotional assessments.Prepare clear, comprehensive, and legally compliant psychological reports.Participate in eligibility meetings, annual review meetings, reevaluations, and manifestation determination meetings.Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and outside agencies to support student programming and interventions.Case Management ResponsibilitiesServe as case manager for assigned students receiving special education services.Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings and ensure compliance with NJDOE and IDEA requirements.Maintain accurate records, timelines, and documentation related to student services and evaluations.Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding evaluations, programming, services, and student progress.Monitor implementation of IEP accommodations, modifications, and behavioral supports.Counseling & Intervention ServicesProvide individual and/or small group counseling services to students as assigned.Support students' social-emotional and behavioral development through evidence-based interventions.Assist with crisis intervention and behavioral support planning.Consult with staff and families regarding mental health, behavior, and learning needs.Participate in intervention planning and problem-solving teams.QualificationsValid New Jersey School Psychologist Certification required.Experience conducting and interpreting cognitive evaluations.Knowledge of NJ special education code, evaluation procedures, and IEP development.Experience with case management responsibilities preferred.Strong counseling, consultation, and collaboration skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and timelines effectively.Experience working in elementary and/or secondary school settings preferred.Preferred SkillsKnowledge of evidence-based behavioral and social-emotional interventions.Familiarity with assessment platforms and report-writing systems.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.Commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive practices.Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.Terms of EmploymentFull-time, tenure-track position.Ten-month position with competitive salary and benefits in accordance with the negotiated agreement.Opportunities for paid summer evaluations and extended school year responsibilities available.
