    Grants Position

    Job Title: School Psychologist

    Reports to: Campus Principal

    Location: In-Person, Coral Academy of Science, Las Vegas; Henderson, NV

    Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month

    Position Summary

    The School Psychologist supports the academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of students by providing psychological services within a multi-tiered system of support. The School Psychologist collaborates with educators, families, administrators, and related service providers to evaluate student needs, develop interventions, and promote positive educational outcomes. This position plays a critical role in special education eligibility determinations, behavioral support planning, crisis response, and fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Psychological Assessment & Evaluation

    • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and adaptive functioning.
    • Interpret assessment data and prepare written reports that support educational decision-making.
    • Participate in eligibility determinations for special education and related services in accordance with federal and state regulations.
    • Conduct reevaluations and independent educational evaluations as assigned.
    • Utilize data-driven decision-making to identify student needs and appropriate interventions.

    Special Education Services

    • Participate as a multidisciplinary team member in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
    • Assist in the development of appropriate educational goals, accommodations, and interventions.
    • Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and Nevada special education regulations.
    • Support staff and families in understanding evaluation results and educational implications.

    Behavioral & Mental Health Support

    • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
    • Provide consultation regarding behavioral, emotional, and mental health concerns.
    • Assist in developing strategies that promote positive student behavior and school climate.
    • Support the implementation of social-emotional learning and behavioral intervention programs.

    Consultation & Collaboration

    • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, nurses, and related service providers to support student success.
    • Consult with families regarding educational, behavioral, and mental health concerns.
    • Provide recommendations and resources to support students both in school and at home.
    • Participate in problem-solving teams, student support teams, and other multidisciplinary meetings.

    Crisis Prevention & Response

    • Participate in school crisis prevention, intervention, and response activities.
    • Provide support following critical incidents affecting students, staff, or the school community.
    • Assist with threat assessments and risk evaluations as appropriate.
    • Support the development of safe and supportive school environments.

    Professional Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
    • Stay current with developments in school psychology, assessment practices, and special education law.
    • Participate in professional development and required trainings.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Specialist-level degree (Ed.S.), Master''s degree plus specialist certification, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
    • Valid Nevada School Psychologist License issued by the Nevada Department of Education or ability to obtain licensure.
    • Knowledge of psychoeducational assessment tools and evaluation procedures.
    • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Nevada special education regulations.
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

    Preferred

    • Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential.
    • Experience working in K-12 educational settings.
    • Experience supporting diverse student populations.
    • Bilingual or multilingual abilities.

    Work Environment

    The School Psychologist works in school and office settings with frequent interaction with students, families, teachers, administrators, and related service providers. The position requires conducting assessments, participating in meetings, maintaining documentation, and responding to student needs in a variety of educational environments. Occasional travel between campuses may be required.
