DPS recruits and supports educators with passion who are aligned with our vision to advance all learners to their highest potential.Position Summary:The School Psychologist supports the intellectual, social, emotional, and behavioral development of students through a range of services including assessment, consultation, intervention, and collaboration with school staff and families. The role is essential in helping students overcome barriers to learning and succeed in school.Responsibilities Include:Conduct psychological evaluations for students referred for academic, behavioral, or emotional concernsAdminister and interpret appropriate assessment toolsPrepare comprehensive written reports and share results with families and school teamsCollaborate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)Provide counseling, behavioral intervention, and crisis supportConsult with teachers, administrators, and families to support student successSupport development of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention PlansParticipate in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings and other team-based supportsJob Requirements Minimum QualificationsSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Proficiency in psychological assessment methods and data interpretationAbility to support diverse learners, including students with disabilities and English learnersExperience with counseling and behavior managementKnowledge of child development and trauma-informed practicesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with Connecticut and federal special education regulationsStrong organizational skills and attention to confidentialityPreferred Education and Experience:Experience in a school or clinical settingBilingual or multilingual preferredExperience working with culturally and economically diverse studentsEducation/Certification Requirements:Master's or Sixth Year Degree in School Psychology or related fieldMust hold or be eligible for Connecticut certification as School Psychologist (070)Salary:Salary and benefits are in accordance with the current agreement between the Danbury Board of Education and the NEA-Danbury.Application Instructions:Apply online at: www.danbury.k12.ct.usPlease include a resume, cover letter, certification, transcripts, and three (3) current letters of recommendation.
