The Mahopac Central School District anticipates the following probationary position for the 2026/2027 School Year:
School Psychologist - Mahopac High School
- Valid NYS Certification as a School Psychologist.
- Master's degree or higher in School Psychology.
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for students; interpret and present results to support educational planning.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and problem-solving meetings.
- Provide individual and group counseling per IEP requirements.
- Serve as 504 chairperson.
- Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide insight into the development of functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and parents to create supportive learning environments and address students' diverse needs.
- Provide assistance to staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students.
- Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, coping, and problem-solving in the classroom.
- Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed.
- Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families.
- Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff.
- Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis.
