Position Details

TITLE: School Psychologist

SALARY RANGE: $47,547-$102,907 (salary protection available)

Requirements:

A valid Michigan school psychologist certification is required. Meet the definition of a school psychologist in R340.1799e of the June 6, 2002 Michigan Department of Education Revised Administrative Rules.

One year of successful experience with direction from a fully approved school psychologist. Prefer familiarity with MTSS and providing support to the general education teachers regarding interventions for at-risk learners.

Candidates shall demonstrate the following competencies:

• Experience/training in best practices of a school-wide problem-solving model • An understanding of special education law and the rationale of evaluation for special education services • The capacity to apply skills in the use of data from formative, summative, norm-referenced, and high-stakes assessment • Knowledge of interventions and progress monitoring techniques (reading, math, written expression, and behavior) • The capacity to interview, consult, and counsel with school personnel, parents, students, and others • The ability to communicate psychological findings to professionals, parents, students, and others in a meaningful manner • The skills to serve as an intervention specialist and consultant to staff • The ability to apply skills regarding the psychology of learning and learning impairments of students • Experience and/or training with Applied Behavior Analysis • Technological skills in word processing, graphing, digital presentations, and test scoring programs
