TITLE School Psychologist
SALARY RANGE $47,475 - $10,2907 Salary protection available
REQUIREMENTS A valid Michigan school psychologist certification is required. Meet the definition of a school psychologist in R340.1799e of the June 6, 2002 Michigan Department of Education Revised Administrative Rules. One year of successful experience with direction from a fully approved school psychologist. Prefer familiarity with MTSS and providing support to the general education teachers regarding interventions for at-risk learners.
CANDIDATES SHALL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES
• Experience • Training in best practices of a school-wide problem-solving model • Understanding of special education law and the rationale of evaluation for special education services • Capacity to apply skills in the use of data from formative, summative, norm-referenced, and high-stakes assessment • Knowledge of interventions and progress monitoring techniques (reading, math, written expression, and behavior) • Capacity to interview, consult, and counsel with school personnel, parents, students, and others • Ability to communicate psychological findings to professionals, parents, students, and others in a meaningful manner • Skills to serve as an intervention specialist and consultant to staff • Ability to apply skills regarding the psychology of learning and learning impairments of students • Experience and/or training with Applied Behavior Analysis • Technological skills in word processing, graphing, digital presentations, and test scoring programs
