    Position Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Psychologist to support the academic, social, and emotional development of students. This role includes responsibilities in psychological assessment, special education support, and serving as a Transition Coordinator to assist students in preparing for post-secondary success, High School Credit Analysis and other duties as directed by the program supervisor.

    Key Responsibilities

    Assessment & Evaluation

    • Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational assessments for students needing to be reevaluated for special education services
    • Interpret assessment data and prepare detailed, compliant evaluation reports
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine eligibility and appropriate services
    • Use data to inform instructional strategies and interventions

    IEP Participation & Compliance

    • Attend and actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
    • Provide clear explanations of assessment results to families and staff
    • Assist in developing measurable goals and appropriate accommodations
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations

    Transition Coordination

    • Serve as Transition Coordinator for students ages 14-26
    • Develop and implement transition plans in collaboration with special education teachers aligned with student goals for post-secondary education, employment, and independent living
    • Collaborate with community agencies, vocational programs, and post-secondary institutions
    • Support students and families in navigating transition resources and services
    • Analyze and perform credit analysis for all High School Students

    Consultation & Collaboration

    • Partner with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
    • Provide consultation on behavioral, academic, and social-emotional concerns
    • Contribute to a positive, inclusive school climate

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Candidate must meet Michigan State Department of Education criteria for full or temporary approval as a School Psychologist and have at least a Master's degree.
    • Must have either a valid Michigan School Psychologist certificate or a Preliminary School Psychologist Certificate.
    • Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
    • An ability to relate well to others and use good interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of behavior management techniques, writing behavior intervention plans, functional behavior analysis, and implementing positive behavioral supports.
    • Knowledge of and/or willingness to develop skills in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI techniques), Applied Behavior Analysis, and other similar programs will be helpful.
    • Experience with students with behavioral challenges be helpful.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience working with diverse student populations
    • Familiarity with IEP management systems
    • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines
    • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and practices

    Compensation: In accordance with the Center Program Salary Schedule - H.P.E.A. Contract

    Start Date: Beginning of the 2026-2027 School Year.
