Taft Early Learning Center has an opening for a school psychologist. This person provides psychological assessments on an individual basis, counseling with students and families, and completes other assessments as needed to complete the essential functions of the position.

Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for students in grades PreK-3, including cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral assessments, to inform eligibility determinations and programming decisions. Interpret and communicate evaluation results clearly to Team members, families, and staff, including results completed by outside providers. Develop and present written psychological reports with clear, actionable recommendations for programming, services, and interventions. Actively participate in Team meetings for initial eligibility determinations, annual reviews, re-evaluations, and progress updates. Serve as a collaborative member of the school''s Crisis Prevention and Response Team, supporting staff and students during acute situations. Provide individual and small group counseling services to students with social-emotional and behavioral needs as outlined in IEPs or through general education support. Consult with teachers, administrators, specialists, and families to support student mental health, behavior, and academic success. Collaborate with the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) team to analyze data and develop proactive, tiered interventions for students at risk.

Support staff with the development and implementation of behavior plans and social-emotional learning strategies. Maintain compliance with all applicable federal and Massachusetts state regulations governing the evaluation and special education process. Complete all required reports, documentation, and records in accordance with district policy, state regulation, and federal statute. Participate in professional learning communities, faculty meetings, and ongoing professional development. Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA and all applicable laws and regulations. Additional Requirements: Master''s degree required; degree in School Psychology or a related field preferred. Current Massachusetts DESE licensure as a School Psychologist required. Experience working with young children in a PreK-3 or early childhood setting preferred. Strong knowledge of evidence-based assessment tools and protocols appropriate for early childhood populations. Experience with IEP development, special education law, and Massachusetts eligibility processes. Familiarity with MTSS frameworks, positive behavior supports, and tiered intervention models. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex data in accessible language for families and staff. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to culturally responsive and equitable practices in assessment and counseling. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a caseload and meet state-mandated timelines. Dedication to ongoing professional development in school psychology, early childhood mental health, and special education best practices. Citizenship, residency, or valid work authorization required. Physical Requirements (Must be able to): Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the school day. Bend, twist, reach, and sit at student-level during assessments and counseling sessions. Respond quickly and calmly to students in crisis or emergency situations. Use technology tools required for assessment, report writing, data analysis, and communication. Assist students as needed, which may involve lifting up to 25 pounds.
