Duties
Conduct thorough student health assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
Administer medications, injections, and treatments following established protocols and state regulations.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the school, utilizing CPR, AED operation, and first aid skills.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs.
Manage immunization records in accordance with state Board of Nursing requirements and health regulations.
Provide health education to students and staff on topics such as hygiene, injury prevention, and chronic disease management.
Support school-wide health initiatives by coordinating screenings, vaccinations, and health promotion activities.
Ensure compliance with nursing policies and State Nursing Practice Acts while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Assist in maintaining a safe clinic environment through manual handling procedures and infection control practices.
