Job Summary (Special Education Teacher - Michigan)

- Teach students with Moderate Cognitive Impairment (MoCI) in a school setting.
- Manage a caseload of 8-10 students with cognitive impairments.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to support student goals.
- Provide differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs.
- Collect and document data for progress monitoring.
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and families.
- Maintain compliance with IDEA and district special education guidelines.
- Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work in resource, self-contained, or 1:1 settings; handle externalizing behaviors as needed.
- Engage in lesson planning and work collaboratively with faculty and parents.
- Maintain strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Requirements:
- Valid Michigan Special Education certification.
- Cognitive Impairment (SA or CI) endorsement required.
- Previous experience with students with cognitive impairments preferred.
