In this Speech Language Pathologist role, you will work in a collaborative healthcare environment focused on high-quality, patient-centered care. Depending on the specific setting, your typical day may include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing one-on-one or small-group therapy to patients with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders. You will partner closely with physicians, nursing staff, occupational and physical therapists, and case management to coordinate care and support safe, effective discharge planning. Caseloads may include adults recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, surgery, or complex medical conditions, as well as patients with progressive neurological disorders. You may be involved in bedside swallowing evaluations, language and cognitive-communication testing, and functional communication training. Documentation is completed in an Electronic Medical Record system with support from experienced clinical and administrative staff. Shifts are typically full-time, day-shift hours with some flexibility depending on census and department needs. Weekend or holiday rotations may be required based on the unit. Licenses: SLP-OH
Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology (SLP) or Related Field
State SLP License in Ohio
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
Pupil Services License
Preferred Qualifications
