There is an open School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor position at the Lunenburg Middle School.

TITLE: School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor REPORTS TO: Principal

LOCATION

Lunenburg Middle School (6-8) 1079 Massachusetts Avenue, Lunenburg, MA 01462

GENERAL: The job of this position is to provide comprehensive, evidence based school counseling programming to students in grades 6-8 via individual and group services. Responsibilities may vary depending on need and priorities within each school.

DUTIES & REPSONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide individual counseling utilizing evidence based clinical interventions to students on caseload.
  • If required, run small therapeutic groups utilizing evidence based clinical interventions.
  • Responsible for providing crisis intervention and conflict resolution services when requested by school personnel.
  • Collaborate and communicate with parents, guardians, teachers, support staff, and outside agencies.
  • Assess and screen student's mental health symptoms and needs per referral from the student support team.
  • Serve as a referral agent and case manager for students and families in developing a network of community supports.
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable and conforming to state and system-wide regulations on student records and confidentiality.

EXPERIENCE The ideal candidates will have: Flexibility to provide services outside of the normal school day (with schedule adjusted accordingly) Previous experience working in a school setting or other behavioral health environment. Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to provide clinical services independently. Excellent collaboration skills

Desired Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work or Psychology Current/valid DESE license as Social Work/Adjustment Counselor and/or state clinical license (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC).

SALARY: Salary and benefits per Lunenburg Education Association contract.
