Sauk Prairie School District is seeking a school social worker or counselor to support our elementary students in grades 4K-5 at two of our elementary school buildings. We are seeking a teammate who is either already bilingual or willing to engage in learning to grow to bilingual status to serve as a point of contact for our Spanish speaking students/families.
This position will partner with a second elementary school social worker who supports our other two buildings to provide support services that would range from individual students to student groups. These needs are identified through the building level student services MLSS process as well as through the universal mental health screener that is implemented at each building. Additionally, this role assists students and families in connecting with internal and external resources to help needs they may be experiencing.
Sauk Prairie School District has a robust districtwide student services team that includes 2 elementary school social workers (including this position), 2 secondary school social workers, 3 elementary school counselors, 2 middle school school counselors, 2 high school school counselors; and 4 school psychologists. In addition to our building teammates, we have an external team, the Cross Agency Team, that includes 2 clinical counselors and 2 school counselors, to respond to identified intensive level needs, partner with buildings to support students/families in crisis, and to serve as a bridge of services while long term care is being established.

Additionally, for the next two years, we have some funds available through a grant funding source to provide additional support for coursework/learning opportunities.
District Description: The district includes Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, two "next door" villages known as Sauk Prairie. They are located on the beautiful Wisconsin River. Thirteen towns and the village of Merrimac are also in the district. The area features rolling hills, meadows, bluffs, forests, lakes and streams. The district offers small-town, rural living with easy access to the Madison urban area (25 miles) and to the Wisconsin Dells recreation area (28 miles). The district serves 2,600 students, and comprises six learning communities with a high school, middle school and four elementary schools.
License Required: WI DPI certifications required: 7050 - School Social Worker or 54 - School Counselor
