QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION:

Must be Wisconsin DPI certified as a School Social Worker, which requires a master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement the district plan for social work services.

Act as liaison with the Sheboygan County Department of Social Services with Children's Protective Services

Upon request, assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs for children with exceptional needs.

Help develop alternative programs for students at risk for problems and truancy.

Participate as a member of school building teams to meet the needs of the teachers and students who have challenges in the school.

Developing staff in-service training programs.

Participate as a member of the district Mental and Behavioral Health Committee

Make referrals to appropriate community resources.

Work with families either individually or in groups to better meet the needs of their children.

Communicate and consult with community agencies in shared cases.

Develop effective district/school staff in-service training programs upon request.

Support students and families' access to Providing Access to Healing (PATH) within our schools.

Participate in special education Evaluation Meetings as well as Individual Educational Meetings.

Interview families to assess problems affecting the child's educational adjustment.

Assisting parents to access programs available to students with unique needs.
