Step into a rewarding contract role serving students as a Speech-Language Pathologist nearby Chicago, IL. This engaging assignment covers a maternity leave from August 17, 2026, through November 27, 2026, providing direct services to a manageable caseload of 15-20 students. The primary focus willbe on students in 5th through 8th grade, though K-8th grade support is part of the service range.
This position offers approximately 22 hours per week, with the flexibility to structure your schedule across three days if desired. In-person support is required, as virtual options are not being considered. New staff training details will be provided closer to your start date.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering speech-language therapy to a diverse caseload of K-8th grade students, with an emphasis on upper elementary and middle school ages
- Developing, implementing, and regularly updating individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Monitoring and documenting student outcomes in compliance with school guidelines
- Attending relevant meetings and participating in ongoing school-driven professional activities
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois
- Prior experience in a school-based setting, especially with grades 5-8, is advantageous
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
