About the Role:
The Goddard School of Katy (Cinco Ranch) is looking for an energetic and passionate Before & Afterschool Teacher (Floater) to join our dedicated team! In this dynamic role, you'll have the opportunity to float throughout the school to provide support during breaks, assist teachers and classrooms as needed, help with lesson planning and preparation, and participate in staff training and professional development. You will assist with the after-school program from 3:00–6:30 p.m., supporting students with activities, supervision, transitions, and daily routines.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage school-age children during before and afterschool program hours
- Float between classrooms and age groups as needed to maintain proper staff-to-child ratios
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, and enrichment programs
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive behavior of all children in the program
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and fellow staff members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Follow Goddard School curriculum standards and program guidelines
Requirements:
- Experience working with school-age children in a childcare or educational setting preferred
- Flexibility to work both morning and afternoon shifts as a floater
- Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills
- Must meet Texas state childcare licensing requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education coursework a plus
- Warm, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for working with children

Compensation: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
