We are looking for a talented School to Work to join our team specializing in Purchasing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Support the Purchasing team with administrative and operational activities.
Assist with Change Management work, including ER (Engineering Release) and VPCR (Value Package Change Request) work and related documentation processes.
Conduct basic data analysis and reporting with guidance from Purchasing team members.
Enter and maintain data in purchasing and business systems with a high degree of accuracy.
Review information for completeness and identify discrepancies for team review.
Organize and maintain electronic records and documentation.
Assist with preparing reports, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed.
Collaborate with team members to support purchasing projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Follow company policies and procedures regarding procurement and data management.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Must be at least 16 years of ageMust be a high school junior or senior and or college/university studentClasses must align with job description
Strong interest in business, procurement, supply chain, finance, or related field
Basic proficiency in Mircrosoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to learn new sysyems and processes quickly.
Effective written and verbal commications skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Position Summary
The School-to-Work Purchasing Support Associate provides administrative and analytical support to the Purchasing team. This entry-level role offers students hands-on experience in procurement operations, data analysis, and business systems while developing professional skills in a corporate environment. The associate will work under the guidance of team members to support daily purchasing activities and ensure accurate data and system records.
