Chickering Elementary School (Dover) is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team.

A successful candidate will have strong communication skills and be organized, efficient, and congenial to staff, students, and visitors to the school. Responsibilities include attention to detail in support of school administrators, office management, purchasing, and maintaining accounts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides administrative support to the Principal Meet and greet students, parents and visitors
  • Answer phones and respond to security monitor for building access Generate and manage purchase orders
  • Maintains school website
  • Coordinate and publish school email communication to parents/guardians Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the (administrator).

Qualifications:

  • Education/Certification: Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Must possess strong organizational skills as well as the ability to handle multiple projects professionally
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, prioritize tasks and work independently with a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated computer skills (Google platform, budget software, student information database)
  • Must be team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be willing to participate in ongoing in-service training as requested
  • Must maintain a high level of ethical behavior, professionalism, and confidentiality of information as required by law

Terms of Employment: This is a full-time position (1.0) that works 10.5 months (the school year calendar, plus up to 10 extra days) 40 hours per week (7:15 AM-3:15 PM) $23.00 per hour Reports to: Deb Reinemann, Principal
