POSITION: Science Teacher, Wirt County Middle School
CONTRACT: 200 Days, 2026-27 School Year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- WV Professional Teaching Certificate in General Science 5-9 or 5-Adult
- Proficient in written and verbal communications
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with staff and community
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with school administrators, school personnel, and parents
- Demonstrates organization and management skills
- Ability to implement Science College and Career Ready standards and deliver the curriculum
- Demonstrates ability to work within the school Mission and Core Beliefs
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement appropriate instruction for 7th and 8th grade science
- Design and implement a 5-6 grade STEM program through co-teaching,
- Maintain accurate records and provide necessary information on student progress
- Implement and design instruction based on WV Standards
- Analyze data and develop individualized instruction for personalized learning
- Work cooperatively in grade level and cross-curricular teams
- Implement programs and use instructional technology and resources such as SmartBoards, Ipads, virtual class tools and processes, instructional resources, etc.
- Demonstrate adequate planning and management techniques
- Maintain information and resources for effective instructional practices
- Participate in professional growth activities
- Perform other duties as assigned and as necessary for effective program coordination and implementation

SALARY: Wirt County Salary Scale for teachers based on degree and years' experience
