We welcome candidates interested in a full-time Science teaching position to apply through WECAN. The selected candidate for this position will teach five class periods, which will include Physical Science and Earth And Space Science.

Physical Science is a lab course that introduces students to the exploration of fundamental concepts from physics and chemistry including energy, matter, motion and forces, and waves. Physical Science as a course, also examines how energy can be transferred from one object or system to another, how atomic and molecular interactions explain the properties of matter that we see and feel, how one can describe physical interactions between objects and within systems of objects, and the characteristic properties of waves and how they can be used. Additionally, the Physical Science course also has a focus on developing and using models, planning and conducting investigations, analyzing and interpreting data, and constructing explanations.

Earth And Space Science is a course which invites students to explore the dynamic systems of Earth, including the geosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere, as well as Earth's place in the universe and the makeup of our solar system. Through hands-on investigations and engaging activities, students will examine how Earth's surface materials change over time, how celestial bodies influence Earth's position and movement, how scientists uncover evidence of Earth's and life's history, how human actions impact Earth's systems, and how various factors shape weather, climate, and the changing surface of our planet.

Lombardi Middle School also utilizes the Canvas platform, in order to provide students, parents, and families with access to Science course materials and resources.
