This is a pooled position for the 2026-2027 school year. It is open year round even if no current openings exist.
Primary Purpose
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academicsubject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physicaland social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to functionsuccessfully in society.
Qualifications
Education
CertificationBachelor&rsquos degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and workexperience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Special Knowledge

Experience
One year student teaching or approved internship
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Strategies
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district&rsquos curriculumprogram and show written evidence of preparation as required.
Prepare lessons that reflectaccommodations for differences in individual studentdifferences.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies activities materials equipment and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs ofstudents assigned and present subject matter according toguidelines established by TexasEducation Agency board policies and administrative regulations.
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructionalactivities.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed forspecial education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education PlansIEP.
- Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals objectives andmethods according to district requirements.
- Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers and oversee completion.
Student Growth and Development
- Conduct ongoing assessment and feedback related to student achievement throughformal and informal testing.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outsideactivities approved by the campus principal.
- Be a positive role model for students support mission of school district.
Classroom Management and Organization
- Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physicalsocial and emotional development of students.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and studenthandbook.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipmentmaterials and facilities.
- Assist in selecting books equipment and other instructional materials.
- Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents required.
Communication
- Be available by phone e-mail or video conferencing to confer with district personnelstudents andor parents during scheduled work hours.
- Communicate with students or parents on a regular basis via phone or videoconference e-mail or district-approved Learning Management System as directed bydistrict administrative regulations.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication withparents students colleagues and community members.
Professional Growth and Development
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Comply with state district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
