Part-Time Science Educator (TK–9th Grade) — Minds in Motion (San Diego)

Minds in Motion is expanding and looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on Science Teacher to join our team in San Diego! If you love making science interactive, engaging, and genuinely fun for students, this is the role for you.

Schedule & Structure

\n

Initial Schedule: Twice a week from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

\n

Class Size: Small, highly engaging cohorts with a maximum of 10 students, allowing for real mentorship and interactive learning.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Lead Dynamic Science Classes: Facilitate hands-on experiments, engineering challenges, and inquiry-based STEM lessons.

\n

Curriculum & Prep: Collaborate on developing and refining engaging science curriculum and hands-on lesson plans.

\n

Administrative & Student Success: Create welcome packages for new students and draft progress reports.

\n

Team Collaboration: Attend and actively participate in regular team meetings.

\n

Compliance & Safety: Complete required fingerprinting/background checks and mandatory reporter training prior to start.

\n

What We Are Looking For

\n

Experience: Proven background in teaching, tutoring, or leading youth education (STEM/science instruction preferred).

\n

Adaptability: Ability to tailor concepts appropriately across our student age ranges.

\n

High Energy & Reliability: Punctual, organized, and passionate about inspiring young minds.

\n

Local Presence: Based in the San Diego area with reliable transportation.

\n

Compensation

\n

$50 per hour (inclusive of teaching, prep, and administrative duties).

\n
