The Director of Scientific Research develops and implements human research studies related to womens health, including identifying resources and making contacts for contract/industry services. Establishes collaborative relationships to enhance research efforts, and assists in other research related to womens health issues, including the OB/GYN residency program. Indirectly supervises research activities and personnel conducting research. Trains in and ensures compliance of federal and state regulations guiding research conduction to research protocols and department Standard Operating Procedures. Duties include the management and coordination of research studies, budget creation, contract drafting and review, data management, participant consenting, study status communication, and collaboration with other coordinators, nurses, healthcare providers, dietitians, Principal Investigators and ancillary departments.

Requirements:

  • PhD required

  • Knowledge and experience with grant applications required.

  • Experience in study design, data collection, data quality control, research execution, grant writing, manuscript writing, and publishing work in peer reviewed journals required.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in human subject research required.

  • Experience with poster and/or oral presentations at professional conferences preferred.

  • Established research record required, in an area of womens health preferred.

  • Record of funding or potential to procure funding preferred.

  • REDCap experience preferred.

  • Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports a high-paced, high-volume research program conducting clinical and epidemiological womens health research

  • Designs and implements research projects related to area of research; writes and submits grants for research; publishes research findings in nationally peer reviewed professional journals

  • Drafts, revises, and submits regulatory material to IRB and R&D; processes and executes IRB reliance agreements; maintains study regulatory documentation; maintains protocol dedicated communications (e.g. adverse event reporting, unanticipated problem reports, protocol violations)

  • Identifies resources and makes contacts for contract services for the above projects; creates proposals/scopes of work for industry research projects; generates project/study budgets

  • Builds, revises and maintains REDCap projects; case report form creation; data entry; data auditing and quality control; missing data rectification

  • Oversees day to day operations of the research studies; indirectly manages research personnel by training staff on respective research studies and sponsored projects; monitors study progress; audit study activities, data, and protocol adherence; Assists in the coordination of the personnel, equipment and supply needs of research with that of the medical staff, hospital staff, researchers at collaborative institutions, and vendors

Pay Range:

  • Salaried, Exempt position
  • $102,128 - $151,923
  • Compensation commensurate with experience

Schedule:

  • Full-Time
  • Monday - Friday
  • Onsite at Main Hospital Campus
